"Swara Exchanges 1939 - present:
External Service began with a broadcast counter private station performances fit for use by a Broadcaster launched as a link between Inner Frequencies to the rest of the world, later adopting Experimental India Radio as on-air name for independence. EIR is a service accessible through networks by using Akashvani - "celestial announcement" or "sky sound"). It operates on a different shortwave band frequency through live presentations for each city, especially in countries with broadcasts on matters of national and international importance, and demonstrates the experimental way of life through its use of transmitted Indian instrument invention, trance devotions, and comedy programs. EIR audio cassettes (which are sought-after by international radio hobbyists) are issued personally by EIR for reception reports of their broadcasts.

"2012 was a busy year for Corum, Million Brazilian's horn and sampling specialist, releasing 6 full length albums as a variety of monikers (Beguiling Isles, Fake Hospital, etc.), and now some new mystery collaboration with Idaho Joe Windslow whom within his own right is Oakland's mad scientist of homade instrument tweaking such as the 'Gongtar' and a Shiva-like harness that plays 6 singing bowls. Now the two have launched Experimental India Radio, an imaginary transmission of serpentine rhythms, homade string wafts driven by crunchy tabla beats and wailing animal calls? At best EIR reminds me of Throbbing Gristle's 'Heathen Earth' transmission through the airwaves of a remote Indian radio tower or some exiled Bollywood horror movie soundtrack. IMPROVISATIONS
Stunningly beautiful harmonium improvisations recorded in 1949 by spiritualist G.I. Gurdjieff. Many who heard these performances live, found themselves crying uncontrollably. After this cathartic listening experience they reached a place where they felt happy and whole. We hope this record can bring a similar experience to the modern day listener. It doesn't get much more pure than this. Cover is silkscreened with metallic gold ink.

"Gorgeous harmonium improvisations from 1949 by Georges Ivanovitch Gurdjieff a Greco-Armenian mystic and philosopher who was an influential spiritual teacher of the early to mid-20th century who taught that the vast majority of humanity lives their entire lives in a state of hypnotic "waking sleep," but that it was possible to transcend to a higher state of consciousness and achieve full human potential.
These harmonium improvisations date from his last musical period, during which these improv sessions took place following dinners Gurdjieff held in his Paris apartment during the Nazi Occupation and the immediate post-war years.
As usual, Mississippi (+ Psychic Sounds) goes all out and offers this great music in a black and gold silkscreened jacket."

Sometimes a crisis arrives in a package the size of a pizza box, and if you perchance happen to be a airline baggage handler then that pizza arrives a goddamn jumbled mess of shattered cheesy-dreams. Somewhere in the return trip from point A (Chicago) to point B (Portland) after our last recording session, some airline thug made short work of the Deep Earth sampler AKA “Lil Dude”. There are much worse situations in the world, but there are also much better. This little guy was our sampler, drum machine, sequencer, MIDI brain, and general glue that held all of the chaos together. And no piece of “gear” should be indispensable to the creative pursuit, maybe in the same way that no drug should be indispensable to buffering our reality, but the truth of the matter is that sometimes they're just nice to have around.
That being said they're trying to raise any amount of money to contribute to the $500 price tag on the replacement. In doing so they're offering up almost the entirety of the Deep Earth and Beyond (Shaver of Million Brazilians) back catalogs in MP3 format for any donation amount whatsoever via Paypal.
We've never officially released any of these in digital format. You name what it's worth to you and we'll email you 8 albums worth of jams and hopefully raise enough money to buydrugs a sampler to make 8 more albums with!
